About me

Hamid Mernissi

Traveler · Writer · Anthropologist

Based in Morocco · Traveling Africa

I was born and raised in the Medina of Fez, a place where life is not explained, but lived.

Its narrow streets, its rhythms, its people, and its silences shaped the way I see the world long before I understood it.

I have spent much of my life traveling across countries, cultures, and landscapes, not only as a profession, but as a way of learning. Travel, for me, has never been about destinations. It has been about people, about understanding, and about the quiet connections that exist between us all.

Over time, I came to see myself not simply as a traveler, but as an observer of life—someone attentive to the small details, the unspoken codes, and the deeper meanings behind everyday experiences. What I learned in the Medina of Fez, I continued to learn in the world.

This space is where I share those reflections.

Not as conclusions. Not as lessons. But as moments of awareness drawn from a life of movement, memory, and encounter.

I write about culture, travel, dignity, and the human journey, always believing that, beyond our differences, we share the same search for meaning.

If these words resonate with you, then we are already walking together.
