About Hamid Mernissi
Welcome
By now, if you have read a few of these reflections, you may be wondering who is speaking to you.
I did not begin this blog with an introduction.
I preferred to let the words arrive first.
But perhaps it is time to open the door a little wider.
I was born and raised in the Medina of Fez, where life is not explained but lived through streets, voices, traditions, and small daily moments that shape who we become.
Since then, I have traveled far, across countries and cultures, working in the world of travel and anthropology while remaining, at heart, a student of people and of life itself.
This space is not here to teach.
It is here to share.
Moments, memories, reflections, some from the past, some from the road, some simply from sitting still and observing.
If you are here, you are not just a reader.
You are a companion.
And like I once did as a young guide in the Medina, I will not ask you to follow me.
I will simply show you where to look.
Hamid

Hi Hamid Through far back friendship and since ours early days,i always knew and felt that your amazing person in many ways,as honest hard working young man ,trying hard to achieve goals, self made youg man who went up and dawn through good moments and hard moments like anyone's else. YES indeed, the life in such beautiful medieval one of the oldest cities in the world which I have always described it as cocktail of different cultures, faiths and traditions has made of many natives guys like you,and that the life in this medina the real and the best school that anyone can go through to learn what's life can be. I just want to take this opportunity to express my self as old certified friend 🥰that I'm proud of you with all what you went through and have done, and there is no victory without efforts. Wish you all the best of luck and success in what your doing. Your friend Abdelilah Guennoun 😊
